My husband and I were looking for tennis lessons and partners in a beach location and found this little gem of a hotel in Melaque just a few yards off the beach. We had the most wonderful 9 days and because of the intimate nature of the hotel and the shared tennis experience for those who were playing.
We flew into Puerta Villarta, rented a car, and enjoyed the drive to melaque. We found plenty of good places to eat, and enjoyed the lovely beach and the morning tennis. We loved our spacious and beautiful Suite; the rooms were clean and spacious, the furniture comfortable, and the bed divine. The weather was great, and we will definitely be back.
The staff are friendly and efficient and a wonderful doctor with a clinic a couple of blocks away lives onsite. There are free bikes available for touring around and every day a van load of guests is driven to and from four wonderful clay courts in a nearby town. The setup of the complex is secure and altogether El Palmar is simply flipping sweet!
El Palmar is so well tended and comfortable - everyone feels like family there. The tennis is a big draw for us, but we'd go even if we weren't playing tennis!
We stayed at El Palmar for the eighth time in eleven years of travelling to Mexico-there is a reason for continuing to return to el Palmar, it is a blast! These words come to mind: Sunshine, clean rooms, great site, tennis, bikes, friends, camaraderie, pot luck, restaurants, bollios, Oso & Gatoito--and, "feels like home..."
